MSPT-04

Dave Beagle
Sr. Manager, Strategic Partner Sales
Ooma
Unified communications can frighten customers who fear the dreaded “rip and replace” of their existing infrastructure. Technology executives should not think about cloud as a destination, but as an enabler to wrap communications around their entire businesses. The new definition for R.I.P. is Repurpose, Integrate, and Pivot. Attend this session to learn how progressive organizations are repurposing existing infrastructures, integrating communications capabilities and pivoting from a one-size fits all UCaaS model to a solution that is tailored to an organization’s business model.

Threat actors need to adjust to changes in IT. With the move to cloud, attackers are now taking advantage of trusted cloud services and applications to extract data, distribute malware and launch phishing campaigns. Unfortunately, many organizations are still thinking with an "on-premises" mindset, trying to solve these problem with dated solutions. This session dives into the hacker's perspective on targeting both on-premises systems and cloud infrastructures. Attendees will see case studies from real attacks as well as live demos of these threats, along with a review of multiple discussions from underground forums on how hackers plan and execute their attacks. Last, but not least, the session will explore what a SASE architecture brings to the table when trying to secure today's complex infrastructures.

Cybersecurity Solutions - Addressing the Security Poverty Line in Today’s Modern Workplace
CSS-04

Hall A Theatre, 200 Aisle

Tyler Gittens
Solutions Engineer

Addressing the security poverty line in today’s modern workplace requires a shift away from security that’s built for systems, and rather, for people. Today’s employees expect to work from anywhere, on any device, with a laundry list of applications. Twice as many SaaS applications are used today than in 2019, but 30% aren’t managed by their companies. The industry approach to security is fundamentally broken – layering on expensive, non-integrated tools that offer only temporary fixes and create friction and fatigue for employees. In this session, you'll undersatnd the shift in security over the decades, why legacy security doesn’t satisfy the needs of today’s modern workplace, and why putting people at the heart of security solutions can help close the gap between convenience and security.

Zero Trust Network Access is being tackled by many companies in many different ways. Each of which offer a component of Zero Trust. As they say, it's a journey. By making it so convoluted, we will find that customers don't want to take that journey. At its core, Zero Trust should mean that the network boundary and the application boundary work together to ensure that the appropriate users are accessing only their allowed information. If vendors make this too complicated, customers will stick to what they know (VPN). ZTNA doesn't need to be difficult to ensure appropriate access, and Netgate has a solution that takes a giant leap towards meeting the DoD Zero Trust Maturity Model outlined in April of 2023. A guidebook that most Enterprises find themselves using, as well.
